Jessie James Decker........................Born Jessica Rose James, Decker's somewhat exotic birthplace was a product of her being raised in a military family. Decker's family was a military one and resided in Louisiana when she was just eighteen years old. She won the talent contest with the song Patsy Montana's I Want to Be a Cowboy's Sweetheart. Decker moved to Georgia at the age of 15. After she began writing frequently, she travelled to Nashville as well as visited music studios as well as record labels in hopes of finding a contract. A representative from the label that was independent Big Yellow Dog Records heard her at 17 and started selling her music to other labels. After Mercury Records president David Massey heard Decker's demos he passed her work to L.A. Decker then was let out of the contract.
